Passengers can now pay just Rs 60 and board any AC or non-AC, Mini /Midi/ single or double-decker bus in Mumbai and travel unlimited number of times for 24 hours. The new ticket can also be booked online on ridlr app and you can travel across the city and suburbs without the hassle of buying tickets again.
For a non-AC ticket for unlimited journeys throughout the day, the price will be Rs 50. “For Rs 10 more, enjoy the comforts of AC rides in Mumbai. This is good for tourists and frequent travelers in a day,” said BEST spokesperson Manoj Varade, quoted by Mumbai Mirror. The city has a fleet of over 4,800 buses.
On Wednesday, Varade also announced that a total of 49 new electric buses will arrive on city roads before December 31.
A senior official in the traffic wing said: “These are electric buses with lifts for the differently-abled and they already are a hit with commuters on the Cuffe-Parade- Sion route where 26 buses were launched earlier this month
The electric charging infrastructure has been created at BackBay, Worli, Malvani and Shivaji Nagar depots. Sources said this will soon come up at at least 10 more depots.
A citizens group has launched an online petition, demanding e-charging infrastructure at all 27 BEST bus depots in the city.
