Three college girls, all residents of Bainganwadi in suburban Govandi, aged between 18 and 19 years, had come to the seaface to picnic Saturday morning, a senior police officer said
They were clicking pictures when one of them, Taranum, slipped into the sea, he said. Hearing their screams, a local youth, Ramesh, jumped into the sea to rescue the girl, the officer said.
However, the duo are believed to have been swept away in the high tide as they have not been traced yet, he said.
